Back Yard Burger
When the Back Yard Burger opened here 2 years ago - I drove by it dozens of times. I remember thinking, "Great - another burger place that claims they are as good as grilling them yourself....yeah I bet!"
Well let me tell you, after making my inaugural trip through the drive-thru - my fast food experience was forever changed. I had, in fact, stumbled upon fast food perfection - a mirage I never thought possible.
Back Yard Burgers proved me wrong and it has been a love affair ever since. Their burgers DO taste like they have been cooked on the grill!
The only problem you may encounter at BYB, is deciding WHAT to get. Their menu is superb from top to bottom. My personal favorites are their Bacon Cheddar Burger and Blackened Chicken Sandwich. I have tried everything on the menu and have yet to be disappointed. They offer 2 varieties of Fries - Waffle and Seasoned - both excellent. It is actually my hope that eventually they will give you to option of getting a "half and half" order of both. YES, they are really that good.
Feeling like something light? Try their blackened chicken salad. Want dessert? They have homemade cobbler - a nice change of pace for a fast food restaurant.
When BYB ventured into the soup market, I thought perhaps I might find a weakness. NOPE - what I discovered was the best potato soup I'd had in my life.
The staff at BYB is also a nice change of pace - there is actually a sense of professionalism and the stores are immaculately clean. Two big pluses in the fast food market. I must say that BYB is a tad expensive in comparison to their counterparts, but well worth it.
After eating at BYB, I can honestly say that I have eaten at the other fast food places only 4 times and regretted every one of them. McDonalds barely even seems like food fit for human consumption after eating at BYB.
If there is no BYB in your city yet, keep you fingers crossed - one should be there soon. Mark my word, in 5 years, BYB will be the most popular fast food chain in the country - once you've eaten there, you will understand why!
